NOTE
- No product of any sponsor may be handed out or sold on any beach without the consent of the Trans Agulhas committee. Any team whose sponsor is found doing this, will be asked to leave. Please take note of this.
- Please be advised that the Trans Agulhas Challenge is a registered Trade Mark.
- Only official photographers will be allowed inside the demarcated area.
- Club Agulhas, on the day of the event, is totally responsible for any beach and the control thereof and reserves the right to remove any person/team or have them removed should they deem it necessary.
Licencing
No licensing will be done at registration for Trans Agulhas. Please ensure all your documents are in order before the time. Remember your licences. NO EVENT LICENCES WILL BE ISSUED.
Venue and Date
- Arrival 26/27 December 2021, Van Riebeeck Sports Field, Mossel Bay – opening at 14h00.
- Gates will be opened at 14h00 by the Race organizers. No entry before the time.
- Bring own accommodation with you as none will be supplied.
- Each team may only make use of two motor vehicles. For every extra car / bakkie an amount of R300 will be charged. A fee of R1,000 will be charged for every truck or heavy vehicle included in each team. These fees are payable on registration. No cheques will be accepted. Approved markings will be given to each vehicle allowed to enter the campsites.
Camp Sites
▣ Mossel Bay
- The B field is the only official campsite – this area will be clearly marked. The B field can only take small vehicles. NO TRUCKS will be parked on the grass. All trucks to be parked in the parking area at the main entrance.
- No camping / driving over the netball courts or cricket pitch. Camping on the site is a privilege and we need to respect the wishes of the facility owners. We also want to come back next year.
- Launching of boats will be for your own account at Mossel Bay Harbour.
▣ Still Bay
- The rugby fields will be used as the overnight facility as in the past.
- Permission has been granted by the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism for the use of Still Bay Harbour.
- NO TRUCKS can be parked on the school field. All trucks will be allocated a parking space outside of the school field.
▣ Struisbaai
- The use of the municipal fields as overnight facility.
- The tennis courts, tennis club house and 'jukskei' pits are out of bounds.
- No fires in the 'jukskei' pits are permitted.
- The grounds must be left in the same condition as received on the day.
- The use of the harbour on the 30 December is at your own cost. If you launch on the 31st before 08h00, you will not have to pay again.
▣ Gordon's Bay
- Race to finish at Gordon's Bay Harbour.
- Parking and trailer fees are for your own cost.
- No trucks will be allowed into the parking area at Gordon's Bay Harbour.
- Prize-giving will be at the Yacht Club.
Branding
Please note: it is the request of our sponsor that no branding will be done by any participant other than: 1 gazebo; on your boat and 2 feathers. This will only be allowed outside of the cordoned off area on the beaches. No handing out of promotional items will be allowed. If any competitor breaks this rule, you will be invoiced by the sponsors. Please take this warning seriously.

Pilot's Briefing
Directly after welcoming. Please be advised that only pilots, co-pilots and Team managers will be allowed to attend the pilots' briefing. Please note that only pilots will be allowed to raise questions at the Pilots' briefing.
Safety
The safety director will be Graydon Norton (Immediate Medical) in conjunction with the NSRI, the team from Immediate Medical, the team from Radio2Radio and sweeper ribs.

A certificate of completion will be issued to each participant that finishes this event. All participants completing the 2021 Trans Agulhas Challenge will receive a competitors' medal, i.e. from 4th position downwards.

The challenge starts at Hobie beach and heads towards Nature's Valley for the 1st checkpoint and then backtracks to Waves for the 2nd checkpoint, passing a 3rd checkpoint on Plettenberg Bay's main beach and then on to a checkpoint at Brenton on Sea, passing Knysna on the seaward side of the Knysna Heads. After that it's on to beach checkpoints at Swartvlei and Wilderness after which it is on to checkpoints at Glentana, Great Brak River, Little Brak River and then onto the finish at Santos Beach.

From Gansbaai Harbour, head towards Hermanus Old Harbour fly by NSRI boat; beach checkpoint at Hawston Beach, Kleinmond fly by NSRI boat; beach checkpoint at Pringle Bay and finish at Gordon's Bay Old Harbour Wall.
